Marius Stefan is the CEO and founder of Autonom (www.autonom.com), an integrated supplier of mobility and financing solutions. Autonom is also the largest mobility network in Romania, consisting of 46 agencies in 31 cities and a fleet of over 12000 cars. 

Since founding in 2006, Autonom Group has registered a double-digit increase every year, reaching a turnover of over 80 million euro in 2021 and a CAGR of ~50% for the last 14 years. For the last 5 years Autonom was highly active in the M&A scene, acquiring and investing in 11 different companies in the financial, insurance, technology and mobility sectors.

Together with over 700 team members (FTEs), Marius believes in the positive impact that lifelong learning can bring. The autonomy and value-based management system encourages personal development, Autonom was recognized as Best Employer by AON Hewitt for 5 years in a row, by Business Review in 2019 and 2021, and being certified by WorldBlu as a democratic workplace.

Marius Stefan graduated from the Robert H. Smith School of Business MBA program at the University of Maryland. Marius believes in continuous education, so he attends regularly executive education programs at schools such as Harvard Business School, London Business School, Stanford, INSEAD and IMD.

He is a strong supporter of education and entrepreneurship. Together with his brother Dan, they set up 10 years ago Autonom Foundation – a unique initiative with a de-centralized decision process. Every year more than 100 educational projects are initiated or supported by the Foundation.

Currently Marius serves as Chairman of the Board for Endeavor Romania (www.endeavor.org), Vice President of the Board for Romanian Business Leaders (www.rbls.ro) and board member of Teach for Romania (www.teachforromania.org). Marius was elected as a member of the Supervisory Board of OMV Petrom (www.omvpetrom.com

largest company listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange), member of the advisory board of Secom (www.secom.ro), Dr. Leahu Clinics (www.cliniciledrleahu.ro) and various other companies.

Through ATM entures (their family office investment arm), Marius and Dan invested directly and indirectly in over 50 startups in mobility, tech, modern retail, and others.
