My advanced expertise, which covers all of the segments of the copyright law, includes drafting and reviewing copyright contracts for music, television, motion pictures, advertising, digital platforms and social media.
I’ve assisted most major personalities and companies in reviewing their copyright contracts. Among them is Dan Balan (the songwriter of the international hit „Dragostea din tei” which topped the charts in over 30 countries and sold over 12 million copies worldwide), Global Records SRL (the top Romanian record label) and the biggest Romanian TV Broadcaster – Pro TV.
I have successfully represented composer Dan Balan in the litigation for establishing the paternity on the musical composition “Dragostea din tei” (artist: O-zone), also informally known as “The Numa Numa Song”/“Ma Ya Hi”. I have successfully represented the Romanian music production label – MAAN Music in its claim versus the international record label – Jeff Records – for recovering the un-paid royalties resulting from the international exploitation of the track Mr. Saxobeat and the Saxobeats album (Artist: Alexandra Stan).
I have successfully represented composer Adrian Sina in the paternity settlement for the song “Se Thelo”.
I have successfully represented the composers known as “Play & Win” in a copyright infringement claim submitted versus them by Roberto Ramirez who claimed that the musical composition “Club Rocker” (artist: Inna) violated his musical composition “A minute of Life”.
I have successfully represented the authors and performers Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina to settle the litigation regarding the recovery of un-paid royalties from the Romanian record label – Cat Music and Romanian music publisher – Media Services International.
I offer due diligence services for company-owned or interested to purchase intellectual property assets.
I assisted Ultra Music Publishing in connection with its acquisition of Romanian music compositions catalogues from Media Services International and from Studio 47.
I assisted Global Records – top Romanian music label, in connection with its acquisition of a participation share in Quantum Music.
