Born and raised in Bucharest, Ana Ularu began acting at the age of 9, appearing in international productions such as Meurtres par procuration and Passion Mortelle. Her career has since taken her from the stages of Romania’s leading theatres to award-winning roles in European and American films and series.
Ana is known for her intense screen presence and versatility, having worked with Oscar-winning directors like Ron Howard, Susanne Bier, and Francis Ford Coppola, and starred opposite actors such as Tom Hanks, Keanu Reeves, and Jennifer Lawrence. Her international breakout came with Serena, followed by key roles in Inferno, Siberia, and the Amazon Prime hit The Power.
Fluent in five languages, Ana has appeared in over 60 screen productions and is a UNITER and Gopo award winner. She was also honored with the Boccalino Trophy at Locarno and selected as one of Berlinale’s Shooting Stars in 2012. In 2025, she took on a new role as host of Trădătorii, the Romanian adaptation of the global reality phenomenon, and narrated Leonard Bernstein’s Kaddish Symphony with the George Enescu Philharmonic.
Ana currently splits her time between Bucharest and Berlin.
