Raluca Dumitru (Social media manager, Content creator, HaHaHa Production)

Just a creative rebellious spirit who loves music, artists, and the whole process behind an artist. Smiley’s shadow, I literally follow him more than his own shadow 🙂

Q: How does the music industry look like to you in 2024?

A: Honestly, the music industry seems to me like a day in high school where you start the day with all the hard classes, but just before you have to go home, they add sports or arts class so you leave happy. Just kidding, the music industry is a constant challenge, you’re either made for the environment or at least you try your best to keep up. For me, it’s just the right thing.

Q: What are the main challenges that a young person faces when starting out in the current music industry (in Romania)?

A: I think the biggest challenge a young person can face in this environment is credibility. You may be right in what you say or do, but it’s hard to be listened to because “we’ll talk when you grow up” is the favorite phrase of many “adults” in the industry. For me, that was the hardest part, but it’s important to motivate yourself and to not give up even in your hardest times.

Q: What is the professional achievement of which you are most proud?

A: I think, in fact, I know for sure that being one of the core people in Smiley’s team is the biggest professional achievement so far. Looking forward to seeing what is coming next.

Q: How did you break into the music industry?

A: I’m a creative person who is in love with music. I have wanted to work with artists since I was a little girl with big dreams. When I was 11, I promised myself that I would go to HaHaHa Production to work with Smiley and somehow from 11 to 18 I made some choices just to get closer to the goal I wanted to reach. When I was 18 I went on my first tour with Smiley, and since then … welI I haven’t left his side.

Q: What piece of advice would you give to a young person dreaming of working in the music industry?

A: The most important piece of advice that I can give and that I wish I had heard and understood much earlier is: know your worth, don’t underestimate yourself and most importantly, DON’T forget to take a break, because work-life balance is indeed an important matter if you want to succeed without losing yourself in the process.
