Anca Lupeș is one of the most experienced professionals in Romania’s music industry. One of her main strengths is that throughout her career she has worked in almost every area of the industry: mass media (press, radio, TV), concert promoting (as promoter and/or PR&communication manager), record labels, music publishing, management, and booking/talent agency work.
She has diverse and extensive experience in music marketing, both as marketing director for a record label (7 years at Nova Music Entertainment) and as an artist manager or promoter of festivals and concerts with both Romanian and international artists.
In 2009 she became the first Romanian professional to graduate from the Master in Music Business program at Berklee College of Music (Boston, USA).
She is a pioneer of non-formal education in Romania’s music industry — since 2006 she has been creating and teaching courses on various topics of the music industry. Between 2021 and 2023 she was part of the first generation of mentors in the Women In Music Romania program.
In 2016 she founded Romania’s first music industry conference, Mastering The Music Business, which turned 10 years old in 2025.
She is currently a partner and CEO at Star Management (a 360° services company for artists and the music industry, founded in 2004), a member of the board of directors of Star Education (an NGO whose main goal is to support music artists from Romania), President of RAW Music (the NGO that organizes Mastering the Music Business and the MMB Showcase Festival, and Romania’s music export office, a member of the European organization EMEE), and Executive Director of INDIERO (the association of independent record labels and music publishers in Romania, affiliated with the international bodies IMPALA and WIN).
She is the founder of the Mastering The Music Business conference, one of the most important conferences at a regional level, and has been a member of the Federation of Music Conferences since 2025.
An internationally respected professional, Anca Lupeș has been invited as a speaker at numerous international conferences: Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS, Netherlands), Future Echoes (SE), BUSH (HU), So Alive (BG), Athens Music Week (GR), ICME (LV), NY Connect (USA), etc.
She has extensive project management experience with European, local (ROP 2007–2014), and international funding (Creative Europe — 3 projects between 2020–2024, Erasmus+ — two projects starting from 2024).
