Anca Maxim has been working in the youth field since 2005, initially through various non-governmental organisations and, since 2015, as part of the Erasmus+ Romania team.
Youth education has always been an area of particular importance to her, as she considers it one of the key foundations for the development of a strong and inclusive society. She believes that young people need support, guidance, positive examples, and access to diverse opportunities for learning, personal development, and active participation in society.
Through Erasmus+ Youth and the European Solidarity Corps, Anca has found a meaningful way to contribute directly to the education and development of young people. Being closely connected to the realities, challenges, and opportunities within the youth sector has also supported her own professional growth and strengthened her commitment to making a valuable contribution to the field.
Over the years, she has contributed to the development and implementation of the European Youth Strategy and has been involved in working groups coordinated by the European Commission on youth-related policies and priorities.
Her professional background has given her a broad understanding of the different actors involved in youth and education. Having worked in the NGO sector, in education, and within public institutions, she has developed the ability to build bridges between civil society and public authorities. This experience allows her to understand both the needs of young people and organisations working with them, as well as the institutional context in which youth policies and educational programmes are developed and implemented.
