Ligia Keșișian (RO)

Ligia Keșișian is artistic director of Balkanik Festival – Home of World Music in Bucharest, Romania, promoting fusion of traditional regional music, in order to create a sustainable environment for non-mainstream musicians coming from minority communities especially. Balkanik Festival is renowned to have changed the national music scenery, opening it up for the world music genre. Ligia is also the founder of Taraf Flamenco, an international band that mixes traditional Roma music from Romania with the Spanish flamenco music and dance. She is also a world music DJ, festival consultant and PR for various events, a poet and literary translator.
