Head of International Press & PR, Primavera Sound

Marta Pallarès is a music journalist from Barcelona with a masters degree in cultural journalism, who has developed a career beyond newspapers, magazines and radio stations to dive into the music business.

Back to Barcelona after some years in Mexico City working as head of marketing in a record label and teaching at Universidad Iberoamericana, and following two editions leading the Primavera Sound festival live stream with Red Bull TV, Pallarès is now in charge of the international comms strategy for the event. She handles the relationships with media outlets and journalists, develops partnerships and also coordinates Primavera’s international PR agencies abroad.

Pallarès is the company’s official spokesperson for initiatives such as the event’s pioneering commitment to gender balanced lineups, its innovative protocol against sexual harassment and the corporate social responsibility actions, specially the ones involving sustainability projects. She shares them through conferences, panels and keynote speeches.

Since 2019, Pallarès coordinates the partnership within the festival and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals campaign.

She is also one of the five members of the board of YOUROPE, the European Festival Association. YOUROPE was founded in 1998, and it has since evolved into the most important association of European popular music festivals. Today, it represents 122 festivals and associated members from 30 European countries.
