Mihaela Alexandrina Scrioșteanu is Executive Director of UPFR – the Romanian Union of Phonogram Producers – The Neighbouring Rights Association and Executive Director of AIMR – The Romanian Music Industry Association.
She has over 17 years of experience in the music industry and more than 25 years of experience in leadership, strategy and organisational development.
Her work focuses on the collective management and protection of music producers’ rights, enforcement, the fight against music piracy and the industry’s adaptation to technological change and new models of digital consumption.
A significant part of her mandate is dedicated to representing music producers – the main investors in recorded music and the professionals with a direct interest in ensuring that music is protected, valued and recognised for its true cultural and economic worth.
She represents the music industry in dialogue with public institutions, authorities, professional organisations and international partners, contributing to the development of a clearer and more effective framework for protecting creative work, ensuring fair remuneration for rights holders and supporting a sustainable music sector.
Within AIMR, she coordinates projects dedicated to strengthening the music industry, promoting local repertoire and increasing recognition of the cultural and economic value of music.
Among her recent implication is AIMR’s key role in supporting Romania’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, through three projects coordinated, from the national selection stage to the international competition. Bringing together producers, artists, live event organisers, industry professionals and cultural institutions, these projects positioned Eurovision as both a platform for the international visibility of Romanian music and a concrete example of the industry’s capacity to invest in major cultural projects.
Through her work, she aims to connect legislation, technology and creativity in practical ways, so that music is accessed through legal channels, properly protected and able to generate value for producers , artists and audiences alike.
